Details: The Mile End Sessions, David Usher's seventh solo album, is compromised of hits and live favourites spanning his solo career, reinterpreted in stripped down, acoustic arrangements. The namesake is a tip of the hat to the neighbourhood in Montreal David lives in, The Mile End. It's while living there that David has been inspired to look back on his songbook with a different view. "I woke up one morning with the idea of an acoustic album. Revisualizing the songs with new arrangements," explains David. "With space and air for the vocal and melody to breathe, tracing my way back to when they were first written." Some of the songs are hits, they're songs you've heard on the radio; reworked with sparse guitars, lush string arrangements, hand-claps, David's singular yet ample vocal over sing-along arrangements.
