While on record Darling is the Lord of Largo, Clearfield has a more dynamic approach with broad keyboard orchestrations and multi-tracked cello choirs. The title track is a symphony in miniature as Clearfield moves from Gregorian-like chants, to a baroque keyboard cadenza and swirling cello orchestra. He goes solo on a couple of pieces including the muscular \"Etude de Lumiere\" and the over-dubbed canon of \"Nana\". Other tracks, like \"Baqti\" and \"Prelude to an Enchanted River\" incorporate African mbira, bamboo flute, and zither, giving his music a more global and earthier feel. And he needs it. Clearfield has a tendency towards bombast and sentimentality, and that emerges on the album closer, \"The Journey\" with full orchestra.
