Cut in Memphis with producer Jim Gaines (Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan), the recording has a sumptuous sound fattened by Ernest Williamson's B-3 organ, James Solberg's chunky rhythm guitar, and the Memphis Horns. Riding above these thickened grooves are Allison's gruff, strong tenor and his melodic guitar lines. Allison wrote or cowrote eight of the dozen songs.
