OK--it isn't exactly the deepest plot in the ocean, but what were you expecting from Leslie Nielsen (\nSpy Hard,\nNaked Gun)? As you would expect,\nMen with Brooms is occasionally charming and provides a few good chuckles. The opening five minutes alone border on an illegal amount of Canadian content (beavers destroying landscapes while \"Land of the Silver Birch\" plays in the background), making it clear from the outset that this flick intends to entertain, not educate. But it can't decide if it wants to be a romantic comedy or a full-on slapstick fest, and the mix of the two feels forced. That said, if you're craving a great soundtrack (The Tragically Hip, Sarah Harmer) and don't mind a not-too-taxing plot, this\nBroom's for you.
